But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
There are 9 fruits of the Holy Spirit and I will talk about each (per day) in accordance to the above scripture from God’s Holy word(Bible).
When the spirit of God is upon you, one of the fruits (evidence of this presence) is LOVE.
“What is love?” One may wonder. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 gives us(Believers or not) an insight into what love really is.
I believe that a Christian cannot claim to be filled with the Holy Spirit yet fail to live in love of not only themselves but their neighbor(s) too. For the bible is clear:
“Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” (Matthew 22:39). This is the second greatest commandment given to us by God.
It also really does not matter what we do if it is not in love and I mean the love that exists in and for us from or through Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 13
Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing.
And if we(Christians) confess Jesus Christ to be our Lord and savior(who is himself a portrait of complete love) yet fail to emulate this love, how then can we say we bear this as a fruit of the Holy Spirit?
Against this, there is no law! Love is not debatable because God himself did not debate whether to send his only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for our sins. He did not debate whether he should love us even in our sinful nature. He still does not. What love!
Are we not then challenged to live a life worthy of being a boarding for the Holy spirit wherein the fruit of LOVE shall be born?
Love because God first loved us.(1 John 4:19).
